Manchester united will bit Barcelona Ten Strong Reasons

1. Set Pieces

Barcelona is a great side, but a vertically challenged side at the same time.
Having shown their susceptibility to corners and free-kicks, Sir Alex Ferguson must be targeting this area as a way of breaking through.
By using the likes of Vidic, Ferdinand and Rooney, United may well find the breakthrough against their opponents and be one step closer to European glory.

2.Attacking Wide

Anyone who watched Manchester United see off Chelsea over the weekend to effectively win the Premier League title, will have seen Antonio Valencia have one of his best games in a red shirt.
In combination with workhorse Ji Sung Park, the two wide men ripped a good defensive Chelsea team to shreds and will provide ammunition for the potent attacking partnership of Hernandez and Rooney.
In contrast, describing Dani Alves as a defender is only a technicality, and Eric Abidal is coming back from serious health issues.
United will find it very difficult to break through Barca's nucleus of Puyol, Pique, Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta and thus must expand wider to try and knock down the Barcelona door.

3.Tireless Work Ethic

When you play Barcelona, you're resigned to the fact that you're going to spend the majority of the time without the ball.
Many a team have crumbled under the weight of possession, but United has players who are arguably better without the ball than with it.
The likes of Park, Fletcher, Valencia and Rooney are perfect players to match up against Barcelona because of their tireless work rate and infinite energy.
United's best chance to halt the Barcelona passing game is to use these players and their greatest strengths.

4.Playing with Restraint

For all Barcelona's footballing brilliance, their explicit diving and group harassment of the referee is an embarrassment to the game in general.
As seen with Pepe in the semifinal this year and against Inter Milan last year, United must show restraint and not give their opponents any flash points to pressure the officials and force a sending off.
It may be frustrating but any act of over-aggressiveness could prove fatal.

5.Playing Structured Defence

LONDON, ENGLAND - MARCH 01: Didier Drogba of Chelsea holds the ball up watched by Nemanja Vidic (L), Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick during the Barclays Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on March 1, 2011 in Lond
Against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu, Barcelona showed how lethal they can be.
Firstly through their passing prowess and then through sheer individual magic, it was a lesson in attacking football.
To stop Barcelona, United must clog the Barca passing lanes, limit the space and pressure the string-pullers in the middle of the park.

6.Physicality

NEWCASTLE, UNITED KINGDOM - APRIL 19: Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United goes up for a header with Nile Ranger of Newcastle United during the Barclays Premier League match between Newcastle United and Manchester United at St James' Park on April 19, 2011
As well as playing with restraint when diving in, United must capitalise on their physical advantage to muscle Barca's predominantly petite side to get the upper hand, and the ball back.
All of Barca's attacking forces are sub-6ft and the likes of Carrick, Park and the back-four must be physical to stop Barca's dominance on the ball.

7.Counter Attacking

When Barcelona does lose the ball in the final third of the pitch, United can't afford to try and play their opponents at their own game.
Ferguson's side must up the tempo and make best use of their attacking weapons such Javier Hernandez's pace in behind.
If United tries to out-Barcelona Barcelona they'll lose, simple as that.

8.Stopping Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is hands down the best footballer in the world today and when all's said and done, he may well go down as the best of all time.
It will be the hardest task on the night, but the likes of Carrick, Giggs, Valenica and Park must stick with the Argentine and prevent him getting the time, space and opportunity to unleash hell on the United back-line.

9.Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has had a turbulent year and was widely criticised earlier in the season for his lack of goalscoring, however he offers so much more than this.
His play-making ability is the key part of United's attacking game and when he's at his best, as he has been for the second half of the year, it opens up the likes of the wide men and Hernandez with whom he's formed one of the best natural strike partnerships in Europe.
If Rooney is at his brilliant best on the night, United has a great chance to walk away with the trophy.

10.Sir Alex Ferguson

Love him or hate him, you have to respect Sir Alex Ferguson's unbelievable record as a manager and have faith that after watching Barcelona, as well as facing them two years ago, Ferguson will come up with a master plan to foil Barca's attempt to be crowned European champions.
Don't expect a repeat of the 2009 final where United and Ferguson were stunned by Barca's brilliance.
